Happy Small Business Week / Turn Words into Traffic
Thought for the Week - Happy Small Business Week
Last week was Small Business Week in the US so let's take
a few minutes to check on the status of our businesses
for the year.
What were your goals again?
Remember back at the beginning of the year when you set
up plans for the year? How are you doing? Because
January is always so crazy for me, I didn't get mine
done until later, but I set them up at
http://www.memotome.com and they come to me once
every week. And it has helped keep them at the top of my
mind. I'm also rewriting them each day at the top of my
new CEO GoList™ forms. Find
out more
here.
How organized is your office?
How well does your office function for you? Is it
productive and efficient? I am in the reworking stage
trying to determine exactly where in the house I want my
office and how it should look and function.
I do 99% of my work with my laptop in the recliner in my
family room. The problem is that I still need a desk,
filing system and bookshelves to keep up with all the
stuff I generate. Here are a few of my favorite
resources for organizing your office:

some snazzy-looking office furniture, and some items
even get free shipping.
How portable are you?
Can you take your work with you? There's always a pad
and pen, but what if you didn't have to retype? I love
my Palm Tungsten PDA with its collapsible keyboard. They
both fit in the palm of my hand and I can whip out the
keyboard and type up the notes in a meeting. It has a
built-in voice recorder for remembering those brilliant
thoughts that come while I'm chauffeuring the kids.

Wow! I've got so much I want to tell you about, but
there's way too much for this newsletter.
I did want to mention how much fun we are having in Book
School. Lynne is such a patient coach, and last week we
talked about the 5-minute chunk writing process. She's
got a new class coming in June so watch this newsletter
for more info.
I may have to send a special edition this week just to
cover everything!
P.P.S. My printer goofed! I ordered the new full
page CEO GO List(tm) notepads, and they were supposed to
have 50 pages that sell for $11.95 but they printed
100-page notepads. So I'm offering a special price to
move these out.
Save 16% and get the full page notepads for only $19.77.
Only available while supplies last!
For freelancers... Consider this new niche
market where you write articles to generate traffic for your clients ....
For authors and publishers.... How a
simple 500-word article can create a traffic bonanza to your website
Do you need more traffic to your web site?
Who doesn't!
One of the best ways to generate traffic for your site is to write articles that
others can use in their ezines and on their web sites as long as they include a
resource box with your contact information.
I've used this technique since I first launched OrganizedWriter.com.
I was looking for a way to make the writing process quicker and some more tips
on where to submit free articles.
One of the best resources on how to write articles and generate traffic from
them is Turn Words into Traffic by Jim and Dallas Edwards.
This ebook walks you through a simple process for creating and submitting a
500-word article including:
* how to make the article interesting to visitors,
* how to format the article for distribution and
* how to create a compelling resource box (so the people who read it will
actually click-through to your site).
My favorite part of the book, though, is the article promotion strategies and
tactics at the back that show you exactly what to do with your article.
You should know though, the first time I read about this
product, I avoided it because the sales letter had too much hype for me.
But my husband bought it, and I was happy to learn that the ebook isn't all
hype. It contains genuine strategies to write articles and increase your
traffic -- and I've been using it with my consulting clients to help them get
more traffic.
"Julie, I am sending a quick note to thank you for your well measured and extra-ordinary website. You have
a tremendous amount of information at a very reasonable cost. I subscribed to your free site and, for the
first time in forty years of writing, found a planner that works for me.
I felt so guilty for receiving so much information free from your
site that I have now ordered and downloaded the e book. I have found that you have struck a cord among so
many writers regarding procrastination and simple organization. Keep up the good work.
