Thanks for Reading / Holiday Wish Lists
Thought for the Week -
Thanks for Reading
We just wrapped up Thanksgiving
weekend here in the U.S., and it's one of my very
favorite holidays of the year. One of the things on my
thank you list this year is you. I have the best
subscribers on the planet -- you keep me motivated with
your kind comments, you spread the word to your writing
friends about this newsletter, and I appreciate you
sharing your email box with me! Thank you!
We're cruising into the last month of the year. How did
that happen?? I can't believe it's December already. The
holiday spirit is revving up at our house. Letters went
out to Santa last week. What was at the top of their
lists?
And in case you are putting your own special list
together, check out these Gifts for Writers (you can
even send a wish list to your friends and family):
How is your holiday planning? I promised you some
more steps and you can get them all (including the new
Saving Dinner for the Holidays book) at
http://www.organizedholidays.com
(By the way I used a template site to create this one as
a demo. In case you are looking for an inexpensive way
to create a website or get your domain names, visit
http://www.organizedwebsite.com
Look under Build a Website on the right hand side.)
As we roll into the end of the year, check your list of unpaid articles to see
what checks you can get in this last month. Did you send an invoice? If not, get
one in the mail today. If so, send a second one marked in red "Past Due" with
the original due date highlighted.
You can also ask your editor if you can contact their Accounting Department
directly. They can tell you if the invoice is in the system yet and when the
check may be cut. Some companies only write checks once per month so you may be
in the next check run. They can also tell you if there is something missing that
is preventing your check from being issued.
For authors and
publishers.... Working through the Maze
Let's face it, writing and publishing, not to mention
actually selling a book, can be quite intimidating.
Knowing the steps you need to take, in what order, where to find the resources
you'll need, and understanding the whole process of publishing, marketing and
distribution is very complex.
Jim Donovan, the author of several international best selling books including
"Handbook to a Happier Life" and "This is Your Life, Not a Dress Rehearsal" and
a well known publishing consultant, has created a new program to help you get
started.
It's titled, "How to Write, Publish & Sell Your Book" and gives you a complete
overview of the entire publishing industry, including the insider information
about publishing and selling books and everything you'll need to know to get
going in the right direction.
To learn more about this groundbreaking new program (and to get his "Successful
Self-Publishing" ebook and email course at no charge), follow this link.
Happy organizing! Julie

"Julie, I am sending a quick note to thank you for your well measured and extra-ordinary website. You have
a tremendous amount of information at a very reasonable cost. I subscribed to your free site and, for the
first time in forty years of writing, found a planner that works for me.
I felt so guilty for receiving so much information free from your
site that I have now ordered and downloaded the e book. I have found that you have struck a cord among so
many writers regarding procrastination and simple organization. Keep up the good work.
