Mar 23, 2005 - Realize Your Writing Dream
Volume 4, Issue 7
The weekly ezine with a road map for
sidetracked writers.
"Be better writers today
than we were yesterday."
Thought for the Week - Realize Your Writing Dream
What's a synonym for realize? Actualize.
If you look up actualize in the dictionary, it means to
make real. What writing dream are you trying to actualize?
Is it reaching that new freelance market or
finishing your book?
If you look closely at "actualize" though, what words does
it remind you of? Two that jump into my mind are ACT and ACTION. Are you taking any action toward your dream? Yes,
it's hard, and yes, you're busy, but what little thing can
you act on to move yourself forward?
I know how hard it can be.
For the past six months, I've been trying to complete a new
project-- and I just couldn't get going on it (no action).
But then I signed up for an internet conference in Las Vegas, and I'm amazed at how much I got done these last few weeks (even with two sick kids!). The first volume of
the new audio is done so I could take samples with me.
For me, it took the deadline of the conference to get me moving to take action and make real progress (and a helpful
hubby).
So what deadline can you add to your life to get yourself
ACTing on it today?
Can you believe March is almost over already? It's been
such a whirlwind for me -- first getting ready for the conference, then not going because everyone got sick, and
then my dad ended up in the hospital (he's OK now after the amazing doctor who saved my mom's life two years ago put a couple stents in an artery on the back
of his heart).
Whew! I think I'm ready for a vacation, and you can see why this newsletter has been AWOL!
By the way, if you are a new subscriber (thanks for joining
us!) who could not get the snipurl link to work for your planner file,
try again this week or just email me at julie@organizedwriter.com.
SnipURL has been having denial of service problems.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
P.S. Did you miss last week's issue? Read it
athere.
P.P.S. It's the "I Didn't Get to Go" Sale!
I didn't get to go to Vegas, but I have stockpiled inventory of two of my newest products so I could show them.
One is an audio CD where you learn my 10 Secrets to an Organized
Business. I walk through specific scenarios where I was disorganized and what it took to get organized. Then I'll tell you the secret you can apply to make sure you get
the right things done. This CD is perfect for listening in the car or on the treadmill and the regular price is $24.95...
The second product is a new notepad for your daily activities. I've grouped all the "stuff" we do each day into the logical categories I use -- has to be done today, calls, email, go (for errands), chores, stuff I'm waiting on and a daily time map for blocking out your activities. There's even a place to rewrite your goals so each day you think about where you are going and how you will get there.
You know I am very picky about the forms I use, and this new notepad is one of my favorites. With 50 sheets, it will last you for nearly two months of business at only $8.95....
I'll bundle these for you so you save over 10% off the regular price AND give you free shipping in the US.
Get them both for only $30.
Or just visit https://www.paypal.com and send
$30 to julie@organizedwriter.com for the CD and Notepad set.
For authors and publishers.... Your Internet Book Tour
Book tours are so expensive, right? Airplane tickets, hotels, restaurants, rental cards, and on and on.
But what if you could eliminate all that with a book tour online -- and even better -- what if you could be there, talking, laughing and sharing the story of your book with your readers by video over the internet?
How many more of your readers would buy if they could hear directly from you about your topic?
I've found an easy way to do it with just a webcam and a new service. You can start by adding streaming video to your emails and websites for $1.

"Julie, I love your book. I have read (or at least opened) more than a trunk load of books about writing over the years. Yours is the first I have seen that gives readers so much in one place. For me, the Master List and putting that together was more than worth the cost."
